What You'll Do
- Build data models that matter – Translate open-ended responses into structured insights using statistical, NLP, and ML techniques
- Shape our AI screening engine – Design features, scoring models, and analysis tools that power Truffle’s async interview platform
- Scale what works – Collaborate with Product and Engineering to turn 1:1 insights into scalable features
- Partner with stakeholders – Work with our CEO, PMs, and clients to identify blind spots, test assumptions, and prototype fast
- Design for the real world – Make tradeoffs that prioritize explainability, usability, and ethical AI over academic elegance
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in analytics, data science, or applied machine learning, ideally in fast-moving SaaS or hiring-tech environments
- Strong SQL and DBT experience – You’ve designed robust models and love clean data lineage
- Applied ML and NLP skills – You know when a simple logistic regression outperforms the hottest transformer model
- Python fluency – You’re comfortable building pipelines, training models, and pushing prototypes into production
- Experience with voice/text data – Sentiment analysis, entity recognition, or transcript parsing is a big plus
- Product mindset – You think in tradeoffs, speak human (not just data), and care deeply about the end-user experience
- Bias-aware builder – You understand the ethical weight of AI in hiring and design with fairness in mind
Bonus Points
- Built or contributed to hiring intelligence products
- Familiarity with cloud data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
- Experience in early-stage, high-ownership startup environments
- BI tooling experience (Metabase, Looker, etc.)
- Knowledge of key hiring metrics (conversion rates, time-to-fill, screening funnel performance, etc.)
