ABOUT TRUFFLE

In good company.

Truffle is AI-assisted candidate screening platform with async video interviews, AI summaries, match scores, Candidate Shorts, and AI-resistant assessments (Personality, SJT, Environment Fit).

Truffle's story

We think hiring is the most important thing a company does — and it just got a lot harder.

Every candidate has ChatGPT now. Resumes are AI-polished, cover letters are AI-written, and even screening questions get run through a chatbot before you see the answer. The tools hiring teams have relied on for decades — resume reviews, phone screens, written exercises — weren't built for this.

We founded Truffle in 2024 to build screening that works in the AI era. It started with one-way video interviews — because it's a lot harder to fake who you are on camera than on paper. Then we added talent assessments with no universal right answers, so there's nothing to Google and nothing to paste into a prompt. Now we're building resume screening that goes beyond keyword matching.

The through line is simple: surface what AI can't fake. How people actually think, communicate, and align with your team — not what their chatbot wrote for them. We've been remote since day one. We hire the way we think everyone should — based on what people can do, not where they sit.

Principles

Trust over everything
We earn trust by being honest — about what we do, what we don't, and what we're still figuring out. Trust compounds. Bullshit doesn't.
Speed is the product
The only truly finite resource is time. That means we move fast too — ship fast, fix fast, decide fast. Done and imperfect beats perfect and stuck.
Say the hard thing
We'd rather an uncomfortable conversation today than a bigger problem next month. Clear feedback, delivered with care, is the highest form of respect.
Be intentional
We ask "why this, why now" before we build, before we write, before we hire. Intentionality is how we win and how our customers improve their hiring.

Our commitment to sustainability

"We build Truffle for the long run, always looking at the impact we have on our team and the people who use Truffle (both candidates and employers), as well as the broader world."
— Sean Griffith, Truffle CEO
It's an obvious perk of remote work — no wasted fuel getting to and from an office in an urban center.
When we bring someone onboard, we hope they'll stay for a very long time. Chasing investment is much less important than building a business that will grow old with us.
We offer competitive salaries that are location-based, so as not to disrupt local economies.
Just like we hope our people stay their whole career, our company swag is built to last — and from recycled materials, too. And merch is totally optional — choose what swag you want, when you want it.

The team

Truffle was built by Sean Griffith. Before Truffle, Sean scaled SimpleTexting to $40 million in revenue before an acquisition by Sinch and hired at volume across multiple teams. The screening problem — too many applicants, too many phone screens, too little signal — was something he experienced firsthand. Truffle has a small, growing remote team across the US, Canada, and Europe.

No venture capital. No external pressures. We're entirely self-funded, which means we answer exclusively to our members. This independence allows us to maintain unwavering focus on building software that genuinely improves hiring outcomes.
