Your hiring, per month
405 screening actions a month Monthly cost, published rate cards
- 1
Truffle
per credit used
Core
$99 /mo
How this lands
240 resumes + 45 assessed (×2) + 15 interviews (×5) = 405 credits a month. Core plan, 405 of 600 credits used.
- Annual billing is 2 months free and the year's credits are available up front
- Unused credits roll over for 12 months on Core and up
- 2
TestGorilla
per candidate credit
Plus
$400 /mo
How this lands
Core doesn't cover AI interviews, ATS integrations, or more than 2 seats (you need 3), so this lands on Plus: from $400 a month, from $4,800 billed annually.
- Plus is a "from" price that scales with credits, so treat $400 as a floor
- Annual commitment, no monthly option
- 3
Spark Hire
per employee headcount band
Recruit Growth
$499 /mo
How this lands
Behavioural assessment only appears on Growth, so Pro is out. Recruit Growth is $499 a month billed annually.
- Billed annually
- Unlimited admin, recruiter, and hiring manager users
- Video interviews and assessments are also sold standalone, from $249/month each
- Cheaper, but doesn't cover everything you asked for
- —
ScreeningHive
per seat and interview cap
Starter
$19 /mo
Missing resume screening, assessments, ATS integration
Starter covers 5 users and 50 interviews a month, which fits your 3 users and 15 interviews.
- Interview count is a hard monthly limit, not a pooled allowance
- —
Hireflix
per employee headcount band
Small (under 50 employees)
$75 /mo
Missing resume screening, assessments
Flat $75 a month regardless of volume. Your 15 interviews and 3 users are all included.
- Billed yearly, with a one-month free trial
- Transcription is included, but there is no AI scoring or ranking
- —
Willo
per live role
Lite (pay as you go)
$118 /mo
Missing resume screening, ATS integration
2 live roles × $59 = $118 a month. Each live role includes 150 assessed candidates.
- No contract, but Lite caps at 5 live roles and 5 users
- AI summaries, scorecards, and ATS integrations are Enterprise-only
Prices are each vendor's own published USD rate card, checked 17 September 2026. Suggested plans are our reading of published limits, not a quote. Confirm with the vendor before you buy.
The other half of the category
Five of them will not tell you the price
These five publish no rate card at all. Every one routes you to a sales call, so there is no honest number to rank them with and we do not invent one. What follows is what third parties report, with the source on each. Read it before you spend three weeks in a demo cycle finding out.
-
HireVue
per annual contract
~$35,000/year reported
No published pricing. Practitioner and resale reports put the Essentials entry point near $35,000 a year, mid-size deals at $40,000–$80,000, and large contracts at $80,000–$145,000+, before $15,000–$40,000 of implementation.
Our HireVue pricing breakdown -
Paradox (Workday)
per annual contract
~$1,000/month reported floor
No published pricing, and now part of Workday. Independent directories put the starting point near $1,000 a month; third-party breakdowns estimate $30,000–$95,000 a year for mid-size deployments plus $15,000–$35,000 of setup.
Our Paradox pricing breakdown -
Criteria
per assessment, inside a contract
~$13,225/year reported median
Per-assessment list pricing is reported at $5–$25 a candidate, but the contract is what you actually sign. Vendr puts the median annual contract at $13,225, with deals from about $5,000 to $75,000+.
Our Criteria pricing breakdown -
VidCruiter
per user, usage-based
from ~$5,000/year reported
No published pricing and no free trial. Third-party listings put the entry point near $5,000 a year, with a 10-user team's first year estimated at $6,800–$19,600 including onboarding.
Our VidCruiter pricing breakdown -
Vervoe
per assessment and seat
Quote only on Vervoe's own site
Vervoe's pricing page shows Enterprise and a sales form. Capterra's listing shows two self-serve tiers Vervoe doesn't publish itself: Pay & Go at $19/month (2 assessments, 3 users) and Growth at $250/month (4 assessments, 6 users).

Why screening prices do not compare
Open five pricing pages in this category and you will find five different billing units. Hireflix charges by how many employees your company has. Willo's Lite plan charges per live role. ScreeningHive charges by seats and an interview cap. TestGorilla charges credits per candidate, on an annual commitment. Spark Hire charges by headcount band. Truffle charges against a monthly credit pool.
None of those numbers is comparable to the others until you run your own volume through them. That is the job of the board above: one set of inputs, six published rate cards, and the plan each one puts you on.
The default month, worked end to end
The board loads with a small team hiring the way most of our customers do. Two roles open, 240 resumes to screen, 45 candidates assessed, 15 one-way interviews completed, three people who need access, under 50 employees, annual billing, and all four capabilities needed.
On Truffle that is 405 credits a month, because a resume scored by AI Match is 1 credit, an assessed candidate is 2, and a completed one-way interview is 5. That fits inside the Core plan's 600-credit pool at $99 a month billed annually, with room to spare.
The same month lands somewhere else entirely on every other rate card. Spark Hire needs Recruit Growth at $499 a month, because behavioural assessment is not on the Pro tier. TestGorilla needs Plus, from $400 a month, because AI interviews and ATS integrations are not on Core. Hireflix is $75 a month and genuinely unlimited, but it does not screen resumes or run assessments. Willo Lite works out to $118 for two live roles, without resume screening, AI summaries or an ATS integration.
That is the pattern worth taking away. The cheap options here are cheap because they do one thing, and the platforms that do all three tend to price like a hiring department. Untick a capability at the top of the board and watch the order change, including past us.
What changed in 2026
Two of the six repriced this year, which is worth knowing if you are reading an older comparison. Willo retired its $279 and $409 monthly tiers and now sells Lite at $59 per live role, capped at five live roles and five users, with Enterprise from $3,799 a year. TestGorilla moved from a flat monthly plan to credits: Core is $135 a month but includes 450 credits a year, roughly 37 a month, and AI interviews plus ATS integrations sit on Plus from $400 a month.
Three questions to ask before you sign
Whichever platform you land on, three answers decide what you will actually pay. Does the price move with my headcount, my job postings, or my screening volume? What happens in a month when a posting floods, and is the overage rate published? And is there a contract, or can I leave?
Those three answers explain most of the spread on this page, and all three are knowable before a sales call. If a vendor will not answer them in writing, that is an answer too. For the four billing models in more depth, read what drives candidate screening software pricing, or see Truffle's own plans and credit math.
Screening software pricing questions
-
How much does candidate screening software cost?
For the platforms that publish a price, $19 to $499 a month depending on what you need it to do. One-way video interviews alone start at $19 a month on ScreeningHive and $75 a month on Hireflix. Add resume screening and assessments in one platform and published plans run $99 a month on Truffle, from $400 on TestGorilla Plus, and $499 on Spark Hire Recruit Growth. Above that sit the platforms that publish nothing: HireVue is reported near $35,000 a year, Criteria's median contract is reported at $13,225 a year, and Paradox is reported to start around $1,000 a month.
-
Which candidate screening platforms publish their pricing?
Six of the eleven here do. Truffle, Hireflix, ScreeningHive, Willo, Spark Hire and TestGorilla all put a number on their own pricing page. HireVue, Paradox, VidCruiter, Criteria and Vervoe do not; every one routes you to a sales call. Vervoe is a special case: its own site shows Enterprise only, while Capterra lists two self-serve tiers Vervoe does not publish itself.
-
Why can't you compare screening software prices directly?
Because the vendors are not metering the same thing. Hireflix charges by your company's employee headcount. Willo Lite charges per live role. ScreeningHive charges by seats and an interview cap. TestGorilla charges credits per candidate on an annual commitment. Spark Hire charges by headcount band, billed annually. Truffle charges against a monthly credit pool. Two platforms with the same headline price can differ several times over once you run your own volume through them.
-
What is the cheapest candidate screening software?
It depends on how much of the job you need done. For one-way video interviews and nothing else, ScreeningHive at $19 a month and Hireflix at $75 a month are the cheapest published options, and the comparison above will rank them first if that is all you tick. Once you need resume screening, assessments and video in one place, Truffle's Starter plan at $49 a month is the lowest published entry point, with Core at $99 a month billed annually for a 600-credit pool.
-
How much does AI screening cost per candidate?
On a credit model you can work it out exactly. A Truffle credit costs about 25 cents on Starter, 17 cents on Core billed annually, 13 cents on Team and 12.5 cents on Scale. A resume scored by AI Match is 1 credit, an assessed candidate is 2, and a completed one-way interview is 5. So a screened resume runs 12 to 25 cents, an assessed candidate 25 to 50 cents, and a completed one-way interview 62 cents to $1.25. On seat-based or headcount-based platforms there is no per-candidate rate at all, which is the point of running your own volume through the comparison.
-
Is there a cheaper alternative to HireVue?
Yes, by a wide margin at the entry point. HireVue publishes no pricing and is reported to start near $35,000 a year before $15,000 to $40,000 of implementation. Truffle covers resume screening, one-way interviews and assessments from $49 a month with a 7-day free trial, no credit card and no sales call. Spark Hire and Hireflix also publish prices, at $335 and $75 a month respectively, though neither covers all three screening methods.
-
How current are these prices?
Every published price here was checked against the vendor's own live pricing page, in USD, on 17 September 2026. Two vendors had changed pricing model outright in 2026: Willo replaced its monthly tiers with $59 per live role plus a $3,799 a year Enterprise contract, and TestGorilla moved to a credit model. Quote-only vendors show third-party reported figures with the source named, never a number we invented.
