Ramp economics
What a ramp costs to screen
Same published plans as everyone else, expressed in the units a BPO actually plans in: seats, and applicants per seat.
How much does it cost to screen a BPO ramp?
Work it from credits. A screened resume costs 1 credit, an assessed candidate 2, and a completed one-way interview 5, from one shared monthly pool. A fifty-seat ramp at twenty applicants per seat, interviewing a quarter of them, comes to roughly 2,550 credits — the Scale plan at $499 a month billed annually. There is no BPO surcharge and no separate tier.

One pool, three screening methods, no module pricing
Truffle is credit-based. Every plan carries every feature, and the plans differ only in how many credits land in your pool each month. You spend those credits across resume screening, assessments, and one-way interviews in whatever mix the ramp needs, which means a requisition that turns out to need more interviewing and less resume reading does not require a contract change.
A credit is charged only when a screening produces something you can act on: a resume scored against your criteria, a completed assessment, or a submitted interview. Applicants who never start, or who abandon halfway, cost nothing — which matters at BPO volumes, where a large share of a posting's applicants never engage at all.
On Core and above, unused credits roll over for twelve months while you stay subscribed, capped at three times the monthly pool. That is the feature that makes ramp-shaped hiring workable: you hire in bursts when clients sign, not in equal monthly instalments, and the pool can absorb the difference.
The four self-serve plans, sized in ramp terms
Same plans as everywhere else on the site. The “roughly” column translates the credit pool into the unit a BPO plans in.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Credits/mo | Roughly, at 20 applicants a seat | Roll-over |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $49 | monthly only | 200 | ~10 seats, resume screening only | None (hard cap) |
| Core | $119 | $99 | 600 | ~15 seats with a quarter interviewed | Up to 3× pool, 12 mo |
| Team | $239 | $199 | 1,500 | ~30 seats with a quarter interviewed | Up to 3× pool, 12 mo |
| Scale | $599 | $499 | 4,000 | ~80 seats with a quarter interviewed | Up to 3× pool, 12 mo |
| Custom | Book a call | — | Custom volume | Above that | — |
Annual is the effective monthly rate, billed annually — two months free. The seat figures are the calculator below run at 20 applicants a seat with 25% interviewed and 15% assessed; your own mix will move them. Overage on Core and up is $0.25 a credit. Full plan detail on the pricing page.
Your ramp, in credits
Set the shape of the ramp. Everything below is computed from the published plans — no quote, no email gate.
- Per seat hired
- $9.98
- Per applicant
- $0.50
Figures use annual billing where a plan offers it (two months free) and add overage at $0.25 a credit on Core and above. Starter is a hard cap with no overage, so it only appears when the ramp fits inside 200 credits. Above the Scale plan plus reasonable overage, the honest answer is a Custom conversation rather than a number.
No vertical surcharge
There is no BPO plan, because there is no BPO price. You buy the same thing at the volume you need.
Ramp pricing: common questions
How much does it cost to screen a BPO ramp?
Work it from credits. A screened resume is 1 credit, an assessed candidate 2, and a completed one-way interview 5, all from one shared monthly pool. A fifty-seat ramp at twenty applicants per seat is 1,000 resumes; interview a quarter of them and assess fifteen percent and you are at roughly 2,550 credits, which lands on the Scale plan at $499 a month billed annually. The calculator on this page does the arithmetic for your own ramp shape.
Is there a BPO-specific plan?
No, and we would rather say so than invent one. Every Truffle plan carries every feature and differs only by the size of the monthly credit pool, so a BPO buys the same thing everyone else does at the volume it needs. Above the Scale plan's 4,000 credits a month, Custom is the answer and that is a conversation rather than a published number.
What happens if a ramp spikes past our plan?
On Core, Team, and Scale, extra screening is billed at a flat $0.25 per credit, so a busy month costs money rather than stopping the ramp. Starter is a hard cap with no overage, which keeps a surprise bill impossible but will block you mid-ramp. Unused credits roll over for 12 months on Core and above, capped at three times the monthly pool, which is what makes lumpy ramp-driven hiring workable.
What does one applicant cost?
Between 12 and 25 cents if you only screen their resume, 25 to 50 cents if you also assess them, and 62 cents to $1.25 for a completed one-way interview. The cheaper end of each range is annual billing on the larger plans. A credit is charged only when a screening returns a result, so applicants who never start or never finish cost nothing.
Do we pay per recruiter?
No. Positions and team members are unlimited on every plan, and there is no per-seat fee, which matters when a ramp pulls in coordinators and account managers who only need to look. You pay for screening volume, not for headcount.
Is there a free trial?
Seven days with 30 credits and no credit card. That is enough to run a real requisition end to end — roughly six completed one-way interviews, or thirty screened resumes, or a mix — which is a better evaluation than any demo.
